Located about 4 miles east of Corinth, Farmington was a flourishing village prior to 1850. The community received its death blow when the Mobile & Ohio Railroad bypassed it when it was built through this section.
The remnants of the place were completely destroyed during the Civil War and has been classified as extinct since 1865.
