Located in the northeast corner of the county, about ten miles from Corinth, this settlement was named for the Kendrick family, members of whom were prominent doctors and ministers.
Revered Mansel Kendrick operated the first store in the community, and served as the first postmaster. Through his generousity the first church and school were built, being called Oak Hill Christian. As there were no free scholls in 1890, Reverend Kendrick paid the teachers for there services.
Dr. Carol Kendrick had the destinction of serving as State Representative for more than thirty years, and during Governor Bilbo's Administration, had the honor of serving for two weeks as Governor of Mississippi.
