Wenasoga, frequently called "Sogie," was established in 1859, eight miles northwest of Corinth, and named for a Native American Chieftain. At one time the village was a thriving community of 200 people.
Among the early settlers of Wenasoga were the names of Walker, Ketchum, Smith, George, Hooker, Hensley, Clausell, Harrison, Lesley, Donell, and Paden.
