Boyette, Mississippi in Attala County

(submitted by and photos by Gerald & Tammy Westmoreland)

Boyette was established by Jasper Boyette between 1830 and 1840 about 16 miles west of Kosciusko. In 1914 a post office was opened, but it was named Bodone because at that time there was another Boyette in the state. The Bodone Post Office was closed in 1920 and the place reverted to the name Boyette.
