Located about 7 miles east of Kosciusko, the New Hope Community was formed about 1859 and named for the New Hope Baptist Church.
Among the early settlers in the community were Captain Henry Jamison, Manzy Jamison, Sam Peeler, Ike Dean, Woodsen Obrient, Joshua Brooks, Jim Wiley, Steve and Bill Rimmer. Reverend Rollins was a pioneer Baptist Minister who lived in the community and G.C. McCool came here from Alabama in 1880.
