Rocky Point is situated approximately 10 miles northwest of Kosciusko, in a hilly area rich with flint rock, which likely inspired its name. The settlement began in 1835 when a store was established along Rockport Road, providing the community with general merchandise and liquor.
This first store was likely operated by William McAdory, who also founded a library and contributed significantly to the community’s development. A post office was later established after J.D. Sanders acquired the McAdory interests, remaining in operation until Rural Free Delivery was introduced.
