James White bought land about 3 miles SW of Kosciusko and built his home here in 1883. His property included part of the present town site, extending for a mile along Old Wire Road.
T.M. Williams for whom the place is named, bought 40 acres of land including part of the town site in 1900. He built the first store and in 1902 he and his brother, W.A. Williams formed the firm of Williams Brothers. Their father, E.M. Williams, purchased the old White home and moved into it in 1903.
