Everette Lee Carr, 77, died Monday morning, December 6 at his home in Durant.
He was a retired salesman with Lewis Grocer Company and an active member of First Baptist Church in Durant.
Mr. Carr was born July 23, 1905 at McCool.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Durant. Officiating ministers were his pastor, the Rev. Steve Delony and a former pastor, the Rev. Durrell Makamson of Jackson.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Novice Kennedy Carr of Durant: two sons, Gerald Lee Carr of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and James Everett Carr of Jackson: four sisters, Mrs. Lucille Nabors of Lexington, Mrs. Flora Mae Bennett of Anaheim, California, Mrs. Beatrice Covington of Santa Rosa, California and Mrs. Cora Stewart of Elaine, Arkansas; two brothers, Clint Carr of Memphis, Tennessee and John Carr of Itta Bena; and seven grandchildren.
Burial was in Bear Creek Cemetery near McCool with Southern Funeral Home of Durant in charge of arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers were Members of his Sunday School Class and Dr. A.A. Derrick, Jr.
