Myrtle Gladys Pace Combs was the daughter of Walter Emanuel Pace (1895-1966), and Euna Delma Caldwell Pace (1903-1974), Walter & Euna's burials were at the Fellowship Baptist Church, Obadiah, Laderdale Co., MS.
Myrtie Gladys Pace Combs, 80, of Artesia, Miss., died June 22, 2004, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. Services were held today at 1 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Reagan Rye officiating. Burial followed at Pythian Cemetery in Artesia. Mrs. Combs was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Bailey, Miss. in Kemper County, the daughter of the late Walter Emmanuel and Euna Caldwell Pace.
She was a member of Artesia Baptist Church. She was an avid seamstress, gardener, and a successful businesswoman, having co-owned and operated Combs Discount Furniture in Artesia with her husband from 1959 until 1984. Mrs. Combs was also retired from Railway Express.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She married Judson Combs on March 30, 1943. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Aubert Eugene Pace, Charlie William Pace, and Edmund Bradley Pace.
