Oma Kathlyn Foreman, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1997, at Clay County Medical Center. She was born in Water Valley to William Charles and Oma Irne Cox Shepherd, and moved to West Point in the late 1940s. A homemaker, she was married to William “Bill” Prestley Foreman who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1987. She was a member of the Church of God.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Blaylock and the Rev. Stanley Adams officiating. Burial will be in Pythian Cemetery in Artesia.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Foreman of West Point and Linda Callahan of Weir; one son, Danny Foreman of Geilenkirchen, Germany; two stepdaughters, Lorean Flippen and Mary Acker of West Point; four stepsons, Earl Foreman Sr. of West Point, Thomas Foreman Sr. of Macon, Luther Foreman Sr. of Columbus and Buddy Foreman of Senatobia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; one great-aunt, Bertha Hannah of Yazoo City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Terry Acker, Tommy Foreman, Gregg Payne and Ken Blakeney. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Andrez Wartak, Dr. Edmund A. Miller Jr., and the staff and ICU nurses at Clay County Medical Center.
